W & J ECU TESTING AND REPAIR CENTRE

RETURN, REFUND AND REPAIR POLICY

Effective Date: 22 October 2026

1. Introduction

W & J ECU Testing and Repair Centre is committed to providing professional ECU testing, electronic control unit repairs, programming, injector testing, injector cleaning, and related automotive electronic services.

This policy explains our terms and conditions regarding returns, refunds, repairs, and warranty claims.

By requesting our services, customers acknowledge that they have been informed of our service terms, subject to their rights under applicable law.

2. ECU Testing and Diagnostic Services

- ECU testing and diagnostic fees cover the time, equipment, and expertise required to perform the requested tests.

- Once testing or diagnostic work has been completed, the service fee is generally non-refundable, except where a refund is required by law or the service was not performed as agreed.

- Testing results will be communicated to the customer where reasonably possible.

- Testing an ECU does not guarantee that it can be repaired.

- If an ECU is found to be beyond economical repair or cannot be repaired, the customer will be informed where reasonably possible.

3. ECU Repairs and Programming

- Customers will be informed of the proposed repair and applicable costs before additional repair work is undertaken.

- Repairs and programming must be authorised by the customer before work begins.

- If additional faults are discovered during the repair process, we may provide a revised quotation and obtain customer approval.

- Programming and software-related services depend on the condition and compatibility of the ECU and the information supplied by the customer.

- We cannot guarantee that repairing an ECU will resolve other vehicle faults unrelated to the work performed.

4. Warranty on Repairs

- Any applicable warranty will be communicated to the customer at the time of the quotation or repair.

- Warranty coverage applies only to the specific repair or components covered by the agreed warranty.

- Warranty claims may require inspection and testing by W & J ECU Testing and Repair Centre.

- A warranty does not automatically cover unrelated faults, external damage, incorrect installation, water damage, electrical surges, tampering, or other damage occurring after the repair, where these are not attributable to our work and exclusion is permitted by law.

- Customers should contact us promptly if the same fault returns after a repair so that the issue can be assessed.

Nothing in this policy excludes any warranty, remedy, or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded under South African law.

5. Injector Testing, Cleaning and Repairs

- Injector testing, cleaning, and repair services are charged according to the work performed and the service agreed upon.

- Results depend on the condition, type, and specifications of the injectors supplied.

- If an injector is damaged or unsuitable for repair, the customer will be informed where reasonably possible.

- Refunds or repeat services will be considered if the agreed service was not performed correctly, subject to applicable law.

6. Returns of Parts and Components

- Customers who supply their own ECUs, injectors, or other components remain responsible for ensuring that the correct items are supplied.

- Where we supply parts or components, return requests must be made as soon as reasonably possible.

- Unused items may be considered for return, subject to the supplier's terms and applicable law.

- Installed, modified, programmed, or specially ordered components may be subject to additional conditions, provided these are lawful.

- Faulty goods will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation.

7. Refund Policy

Refund requests will be assessed individually.

A refund may be considered where:

- A service paid for was not performed.

- We charged for a service that was not authorised.

- A service was not performed as agreed and a refund is an appropriate remedy.

- Goods supplied are faulty and a refund is required or appropriate under applicable law.

- Another circumstance arises in which the customer is legally entitled to a refund.

A refund will not automatically be granted simply because a customer changes their mind about a completed service, subject to any applicable statutory cancellation or refund rights.

Where a refund is approved, it will be processed within a reasonable period using an agreed payment method.

8. Customer-Supplied Components

Customers must provide accurate information about the vehicle, ECU, injectors, and any known faults.

We are not responsible for pre-existing faults or damage unrelated to the work performed. However, this does not limit our responsibility for damage caused by our negligence, breach of contract, or other conduct for which we are legally responsible.

9. How to Submit a Warranty or Refund Claim

To submit a claim, please contact W & J ECU Testing and Repair Centre and provide:

- Your full name and contact details.

- Your invoice or proof of payment.

- The date of the service or purchase.

- A description of the fault or reason for the refund request.

- Relevant photographs, test results, or other supporting information, where available.

We may request that the ECU, injector, or relevant component be returned for inspection.

We will assess the claim and communicate the outcome and any available remedy.

10. South African Consumer Protection

This policy is intended to operate in accordance with the South African Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and other applicable laws.

Nothing in this policy is intended to remove or restrict a customer's statutory rights, including applicable rights relating to defective goods, services not performed with reasonable care and skill, or remedies available under the law.

Where this policy conflicts with applicable law, the law will prevail.
